49ers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh has had a medical procedure to correct an irregular heartbeat.

In a statement released by the 49ers, the team calls the procedure “minor”. Following the treatment, which was done at Stanford Hospital Thursday, Harbaugh was told to rest, so he was not at the team facility in Santa Clara.

Assistant head coach Brad Seely was in charge of the 49ers practice Thursday. It is expected Harbaugh will rejoin the 49ers Friday.

San Francisco is preparing for a game against the Chicago Bears on Monday night at Candlestick Park.

The game matches two of the premier teams, record wise, in the NFL, and it could well be a preview of a future playoff game this season.
