Police now say they are investigating if “self-defense” is reason a woman shot and killed her husband Friday evening.
Officers responded to the family Boone Way home shortly after 6 p.m. The couple’s five children, ranging in age from 4 to 11-years-old, were reportedly in the home during the shooting.
The woman reportedly called 911 to report the shooting, saying that she had just shot her husband after a “confrontation.”
The 64-year-old man was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries. One of the children was also taken to the hospital, but for a diabetic issue.
Police were later told that the man had assaulted the woman. An investigation is ongoing, with no one said to have been arrested as of Saturday. The woman’s children were placed in protective custody.
