Local High School Football Teams Win State Championships

Two local teams made sure northern California stayed on the map when it comes to high school football Friday.

Friday evening in Carson, the Grizzlies of Granite Bay High School won a nail-biter of a game against Long Beach Poly. The Grizzlies won the CIF Division I State Championship 21-20 at the Home Depot Center in Carson.

Earlier in the day, also at the Home Depot Center, Central Catholic of Modesto made easy work of Sante Fe Christian, beating them 66-7 for the Division IV title.

Saturday, Oakdale High School will face Serra High School from Gardena.
