Authorities are dealing with two suspected arsons in two days, Woodland Police announced Saturday.

Early Thursday morning, an officer on patrol happened to come across a fire behind the Grocery Outlet along E. Main Street. A pallet of cardboard was found to have set on fire.

The fire department was able to quickly put the fire out before it could do damage to the business.

Then, late Friday night, authorities were called to Tafoya Elementary School along Homestead Way. A caller reported the fire, with authorities finding that shrubbery at the school was set ablaze.

Fire crews were able to quickly put out that fire as well, stopping it before it could do any damage to the school.

It is not known if the two incidents are related. Police ask anyone with information about the fires to call them at (530) 661-7800.
