Security a Focus of Schools Across the Country

School districts across the country are taking a look at security procedures on their campuses and the safety of their students in light of the mass shooting in Connecticut.

An open letter from the superintendent of the Sacramento City Unified School District reassures parents that his district is part of the conversation.

“This week, SCUSD is meeting with Sacramento Police Department officials and others in our community to review security plans and procedures already in place and discuss what more can be done make our campuses even safer,” the district posted in a letter online.

School districts in Stockton and Modesto have posted similar letters online, outlining their efforts to maintain the safety of students.
