One person is dead after a car flipped and landed in historic Edward Kelley School yard on Bradshaw Road Tuesday afternoon.

The car flew across eight lanes, over a fence and landed in the yard, Sacramento County Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Jason Ramos told FOX40. While the cause of the crash is still under investigations, deputies believe the 21-year-old driver had some sort of medical issue.

The car also had a passenger, who ran to get help after the crash. Ramos told FOX40 that the passenger is O.K.

The Edward Kelley School, founded in 1869, is Sacramento County’s oldest standing schoolhouse and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
