Sales Tax Increase Not a Huge Change for Businesses

Have you noticed the sales tax increase in California?

With the New Year, comes a change. The passage of Proposition 30, an education bill, meant a quarter cent sales tax increase. In Sacramento, the passage of Measure U, a public safety measure, meant an additional increase.

When changes like this happen, businesses just adjust their computers.

Purchases in Sacramento are now taxed 8 percent.

The lowest you’ll find in California is 7 percent in cities like Roseville.
