The San Francisco 49ers are making back-to-back trips to the playoffs for the first time since the ’97 and ’98 seasons.
“You really don’t get too many opportunities like this, so let’s just try to go out and do it,” said running back Frank Gore.
Gore and his teammates understand that making it to the post season is a privilege that they fought for, and is not guaranteed.
The Niners practiced Wednesday for Saturday’s game against the Green Bay Packers, what wide receiver Michael Crabtree describes as a “big game, a big stage.”
It’s also a big stage that the Packers are used to, and they’re looking to make up for falling short in last season’s playoffs.
Coach John Harbaugh relies on veterans like Gore, Randy Moss and Vernon Davis to give the rest of the team an extra sense of urgency.
“To actually talk to guys that have been there (playoffs) and played in those battles, it’s good to hear from them,” Harbaugh told reporters.
You can catch the 49ers face off against the Packers Saturday at 5 p.m. on FOX40.
