Parolee Leads Authorities on High-Speed Chase

A parolee was arrested early Wednesday morning after leading police on a high-speed chase that ended at a church parking lot.

CHP engaged a speeding car along southbound Highway 99 near the 47th Avenue exit, only to have the car continue to speed. Authorities believe that the car might have been racing another.

Blowing through several red lights and stop signs, chase was said to have reach speeds between 80 and 100 miles per hour.

The car chase ended at a church parking lot near Center Parkway and Mack Road. The suspect got out and tried to flee on foot, leaving two passengers behind. But, a perimeter was set-up by CHP and Sacramento County Sheriff’s, with the suspect apprehended shortly after.

The man was identified as a parolee at large. He was taken into custody.
