A hard freeze warning has been called for early Sunday morning, the National Weather Service announced.
The warning will be in effect from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. Sunday for the Sacramento and the northern San Joaquin valleys, along with the Delta.
Temperatures could fall below 20 degrees for a time in some areas. Temperatures could stay near 28 degrees for up to six hours.
Officials suggest that pets that can’t handle the cold be let inside. Cold-sensitive plants should be covered, along with exposed water pipes.
