A lamp valued at $10,000 has been returned to the store it was stolen from in Grass Valley.

Last month, thieves broke into Illumination and stole the lamp, along with many other items in the store. The owner, Arnold Goldberg, says he put such a high price tag on the item because the lamp was 6 feet tall, solid brass and one of only 30 made.

The lamp was found this week at the Orangevale home of Timothy Beard, according to police. His parole agent wondered why Beard had such a nice lamp. Investigators are still trying to figure out if the man was involved in the theft of the item.

Grass Valley police returned the lamp to Goldberg.

“We were ecstatic,” he said.

The lamp is still for sale, at a discounted price, says the owner. If you want to buy it, Illumination can be found at 1255 East Main Street in Grass Valley. Their phone number is (530) 477-5777.
