Two Suspects Arrested in Connection to Rosemont Homicide

Detectives say they have two suspects in custody in connection to the shooting death of a man in Rosemont on Jan. 17.

Rodolfo Villa, 22, was arrested Wednesday and has been charged with murder. Michael Almeda, 19, was arrested on Tuesday and has also been charged with murder.

The victim, 21-year-old Alexander Chavez, was shot while in his car in Sacramento’s Rosemont area. Chavez was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies noted the man was likely driving near Westporter Drive and Lilibet Avenue when he was hit with a bullet.

Authorities are still asking anyone with any information about the incident to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (916) 874-5115.
