Cops are looking for a man who tried to abduct at least two women in a shopping center parking lot this week.

Modesto Police say around 5 p.m. Wednesday, a woman who parked at the Plaza Parkway center noticed a man immediately park next to her. The man tried to open the woman’s door, and tried to force her to get into his car. The woman was able to start her car and drive off.

A few hours later, another woman reported she had been in the same shopping center when a man made multiple attempts to park near her. She thought it was weird and tried to leave, but the man followed her car around the parking lot. She finally parked somewhere else, but the man attempted to block her in, so she took off. As she did so, the man pulled up to her window, showed a handgun, and yelled at her to get out of her car.

This second victim was also able to drive off.

In both reports, the man was driving a late 90s or early 2000s silver Chevrolet Corvette. The man is described as Hispanic, with short, crew-cut style, dark hair. He had a muscular build and appeared to be in his 20’s or 30’s.
