Yolo County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Woodland Polytechnic Academy student Friday for having a knife and BB gun on campus.

School administrators learned of a rumor Thursday that the 17-year-old boy threatened to hurt another student, deputies say. Administrators searched his backpack Friday and found a 3-inch pocket knife and spring-activated BB gun.

Deputies arrived soon after to take the student into custody.

The teen was booked into Yolo County Juvenile Hall for bringing a weapon onto school grounds.

How ridiculous!!! A spring activated BB gun is an airsoft gun. School administrators have lost all concept of common sense. They hide behind rules that are vaguely worded and could potentially apply to just about anything. The Peter principle has just about filled up our educational institution or our institution of no common sense.
