Partnership between CHP, Stockton Police Ending Soon

The homicide rate in Stockton: 0, so far in 2013.

But, the Stockton Police Department attributes much of its recent success to the California Highway Patrol. Since November of 2012, the two agencies have been working together.

The partnership is scheduled to end on Feb. 1. Meantime, the police department has already requested an extension.

“We are hoping they will stay longer, as long as they can,” says Officer Joe Silva of the police department.

A meeting with the city, the police department, and the California Highway Patrol will be held on Monday, Jan. 28 to decide whether the CHP will stay in Stockton.
