The FBI released this image of the “Bad Hatter Bandit”.

A “Bad Hatter Bandit” is hitting banks in the Sacramento area.

The FBI is asking for help tracking down a man who has robbed at least two Chase Banks in the last few months. He robbed one of the banks twice.

The “Bad Hatter Bandit” has changed his clothing, but according to officials he always wears a black hat. He passes a note or verbally demands for cash, each time indicating he is armed. However, a weapon has never been seen.

The “Bad Hatter Bandit” stands between 5’7” and 5’9” with a small build.

The first robbery was at the end of November at the bank along Del Paso Road south of I-80, the second was earlier this month at the Chase Bank along Douglas Boulevard. Then on Tuesday, he robbed the same bank along Del Paso Road.

A second man helped in the second robbery, and other possible accomplices have been seen in the Bad Hatter Bandit’s getaway car. The car used in each robbery has been different, and each one reported stolen.

Anyone with information regarding these robberies is asked to contact the FBI in Sacramento at (916) 481-9110, Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP, Roseville Crime Stoppers at (916) 783-7867, Roseville Police Department or Sacramento Police Department.  Callers who provide information to Crime Alert and Roseville Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward.
