Vivian Conner, 13, died Sunday night when the car she was riding in overturned outside Auburn.

Two teens killed when a SUV they were riding in overturned have been identified as a high school and elementary school student.

Morgan Helman, a student at Del Oro High School, and Vivian Connor, an 8th grader at Newcastle Elementary School died Sunday night in the accident.

Four other teens were in the SUV when it crashed along Auburn Folsom Road. The 17-year-old driver had a provisional license, and was not supposed to have underage passengers in the car with him.

Investigators are not sure why the SUV crashed into the guardrail, went through a fence and overturned in a pasture area. They do believe Helman and Connor were not wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident.

Another 16-year-old girl was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. The three other people inside the SUV were released to their parents.

Family members tell FOX40 the teens were heading out to buy marshmallows for a post-Super Bowl bonfire.
