“Ducks can’t process human food the way we do” says Judy McClaver.

The bird advocate tells FOX40 that the birds in McKinley park have visible deformities in their wings, caused by human beings feeding them bread.

She’s urging the City of Sacramento to step in.

City representative Linda Tucker told FOX40 the city has contacted various academics to try and solve the problem.

The pond in McKinley park is one of nine ponds in the city.

“The issue is likely widespread,” Tucker told FOX40. But, she says the city is committed to fixing it by finding the best practices to move forward.
