Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson arrived in Houston, Tex. Friday morning for the NBA’s All-Star weekend and has had “productive” discussions about the Kings, sources say.

Sources close to the discussions say Sacramento having an improved arena plan is reportedly providing a huge competitive advantage in keeping the team in town.

Sacramento has been the talk of the All-Star weekend for three years now, and Mayor Johnson has seemingly built up credibility among NBA league insiders, the source says.

Johnson went to Texas with Kunal Merchant and Jeff Dorso from the “Think Big” committee.
