Car Thefts on the Rise in Colusa

Police are asking people not to leave their keys in their car, or to leave their car running in the driveway.

Over the past six weeks, seven cars have been stolen. Last year only nine cars were stolen the entire

One of the cars was chopped up and the parts sold; the other six were just taken on joy rides.

Police think these crimes are crimes of opportunity and are asking residents to give criminals less opportunities by securing their vehicles.
