Rio Linda High School’s track coach has died after reportedly being in a horrific bike accident.

Marion Adams was said to have been riding his bike after school Monday when he crashed.

A woman passing by saw Adams, who was impaled by part of the fence. She tried desperately to save Adams – calling 911, talking to him, and flagging other people down.

Adams was soon rushed to the hospital and went into surgery. However, Adams succumbed to his injuries early Tuesday morning.

Not only was Adams Rio Linda’s track coach, he also taught radio broadcasting.

While it is so difficult to sum up a life in a short news article, please note that Coach Adams has also served our community for years as our Head Freshman Football Coach. with Football and Track, he coached year-round, both on the field and in the classroom. This loss is enormous and will be felt greatly throughout our community, students and families. Respected and loved by many for his encouragement, friendship and smile, he will be so greatly missed.
