A CHP motorcycle officer has been involved in an accident near Stockton Boulevard and 37th Avenue.

The officer was trying to get around an RT bus when it struck a car pulling out of the shopping center.

A witness at the scene says that the officer was conscious and talking — in spite of being thrown about 20 feet. The officer only suffered a broken arm and some cuts; he was going 35-40 mph at the time of the crash.

Stockton Boulevard between Jansen and McMahon has been closed due to the investigation into the crash.

The officer is said to be an 18-year vet with the CHP.
