Highway Returning to Normal after 3-Car Crash

Eastbound lanes on Highway 50 near Watt Avenue in Sacramento reopened late Monday afternoon following a three-car crash.

Traffic was backed up for miles and lanes were closed for more than an hour.

The California Highway Patrol  says an SUV slammed into a CalTrans truck, and a third vehicle hit them. The driver of the SUV was stuck inside and taken to the hospital with serious injuries once freed.

Two other people had minor injuries.
