A driver who crashed into a pole in Sacramento early Tuesday morning is now facing DUI charges.

The pole crashed at Fulton Avenue and Munroe Street around 3:30 a.m. and initially blocked traffic, but all lanes are now open.

The pole is still hanging by it’s wires in a sideways position above the ground.

The driver is in the hospital, and will eventually be taken to jail and face a DUI charge.

There are no power issues for SMUD at the moment, but they will be replacing the entire pole at a later time since they won’t be able to fix the one that was knocked down.
