Neighbors trying to help a neighbor ended up being stabbed and stunned by a burglary suspect.
Wednesday afternoon, a person returned home and heard voices. The person ran outside, while a woman and two men ran from the home. The woman and one of the men jumped into a white sedan and took off.
The third suspect ran off. The homeowner started shouting, getting the attention of a neighbor, who started chasing the man, identified as Royce Johannes.
As the neighbor grabbed Johannes, the suspect stabbed him in the side. A second person had caught up to them, and tried to stop Johannes. Johannes then used a small stun gun on this person.
A third person was able to overpower Johannes, and hold him until deputies arrived.
The person who was stabbed was taken to the hospital for treatment. The person who was stunned is ok.
Johannes was booked for attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and burglary. Yolo County Sheriff’s deputies say he was currently on post-release community supervision.
