A 50-year-old man is believed to have drowned Sunday afternoon in the Sacramento River.
The man was leaning off the side to tie his boat to a branch when he fell into the water.
The man’s wife says he wasn’t a good swimmer. She called 911 immediately after the man didn’t come back up.
After an hour of searching, crews switched the situation from a rescue to a recovery operation.
Firefighters say as the weather warms up and spending time in the water sounds more appealing, it’s important to remember to wear a life jacket.
