The message from police was clear and to the point.  Enjoy Cinco de Mayo, but have a plan to get home safe.

For the most part Sunday, people who celebrated in the Sacramento area did just that.

There were very few alcohol-related incidents according to police.

“It’s been alright,” said Asheka an employee at Chevy’s on the River.  “There’s been nothing major.  People have been coming out since 11 this morning and enjoying the best of Cinco.”

Enjoying, then finding a safe ride home.  Taxi cabs were hard to come by in Midtown Sunday evening.

“Non-stop,” commented on driver.
