A man trying to catch some sleep parked in a handicap spot is now resting in jail.

Sacramento Police approached a car parked in a marked spot without a placard Thursday morning around 11.

“I remember parking, falling asleep and then I got woken up by the police,” Chris Nesseth said in a jailhouse interview.

Nesseth says he pulled over to sleep in the El Pollo Loco parking lot. Inside his car, officers found a loaded gun and narcotics.

“They told me that they had seen something in the vehicle,” Nesseth said.

Nesseth was booked for weapons charges and possession of narcotics.
