A woman who slapped a deputy as a way to go to jail and stop smoking, will get her wish.
Etta Lopez was sentenced to 63 days in jail for battery of a peace officer. She pleaded no contest to the misdemeanor charge and was sentenced to jail time and three years of probation.
On Wednesday, Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies say Lopez attacked one of their own outside the Sacramento County Jail.
She admitted to investigators she waited for hours to hit a deputy, and that she wanted to be in a jail cell to force her to be without cigarettes.
