Jerry Brown’s Budget ‘Surplus’ could be used Entirely for Schools

brownSACRAMENTO (LA Times) —

Over the first six months of this year, state revenues are about $4.5 billion higher than the governor’s January projections. And complicated budget formulas could direct nearly all of that money to public schools and community colleges.

Other interests might even be asked to tighten their belts further despite the windfall.

Gov. Jerry Brown will provide additional details on Tuesday when he releases his revised budget plan in Sacramento.
