Residents on North Country Drive in the Antelope community were rousted out of their beds by neighbors after a fire raced through the garage of a home.

Next door neighbor Dwayne James watered down the roof of his house after neighbors woke him up.  He was concerned for the owner of the house that was on fire, but he said “Willie” Williams, an elderly veteran who was hard of hearing made it out safely.

It’s likely the fire started in the garage where the remnants of a car could be seen, but the exact cause of the fire is still being investigated.
