A Rancho Cordova man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison after being convicted of enticement of a minor and child porn charges.

Brandon Marks, 25, was arrested after he contacted an undercover detective through Craigslist back in May 2012. Marks apparently had posted that he wanted to buy children’s underwear.

The detective posed as a 12-year-old girl and spent a week communicating with Marks online and through a cellphone. Marks was said to have sent several child porn images and video to the undercover detective.

Eventually, Marks agreed to meet the “girl” at a Sacramento hotel. Marks was then arrested at the hotel.

Authorities searched his phone, computer and email accounts, finding that he was trading child porn. Two videos and about 70 pictures were found.

Along with the 12 year prison sentence, Marks will be on 40 years of supervised release and will have to register as a sex offender.
