Cal Fire has suspended all burn permits for Tuolumne, Calaveras, eastern Stanislaus and eastern San Joaquin Counties.

Homeowners are asked to not burn their landscape or defensible space debris. Cal Fire recommends recycling, chipping or composting the debris instead.

Previously-issued burn permits have also been rescinded.

Cal Fire cites the danger of fires getting out of hand as their reason for suspending permits.
