Sacramento Man Arrested for Dragging Dog

Sacramento Police say a man was seen dragging an injured dog down Del Paso Boulevard early Tuesday morning.

The man, seen dragging something behind him, was stopped by officers on Del Paso near Plaza Avenue around 1:20 a.m. Police say as they got closer, they saw that he was dragging a dog.

The dog, about 1 year old, had injuries to its paws from being dragged, officers say.

Animal Control officers picked up the dog, who was alert and moving around, according to police.

Anthony Lopez, 26, was arrested for violating his probation and maliciously maiming an animal.
