Canines Graduate From CHP Academy

After 11 weeks of intense training, 10 police canines have received their badges and are ready to get to work.

The ceremony and demonstration of skills was held Friday at the CHP Academy in West Sacramento. The graduates will head to one of seven different CHP divisions throughout the state.

“I’m very proud, and we’re ready to get to work, ” said Officer Heath Kuhlmann referring to his German Shepherd named Helden.

Helden is one of three German Shepherds and seven Belgian Malinois who graduated this morning
