Kyburz Fire Burns 600 Acres with No Containment

The Kyburz Fire in the El Dorado National Forest grew to 600 acres by Monday evening, the U.S. Forest Service said.

As of Monday night, firefighters had not contained any of the fire.

No evacuation orders were given, but campers and staff the Sugarloaf Fine Arts Camp left voluntarily.

Highy 50 in the area was shut down earlier in the day, but westbound lanes were reopened at about 8:30 that evening.
