Police in Sacramento say an officer narrowly avoided getting run over by a driver under the influence Sunday night.

The officer had stopped a car along Freeport Boulevard near Kitchner Road when he looked back to see a truck heading toward him, according to police.

Police say the officer jumped out of the way as the truck crashed into his patrol car. The car was damaged and the officer had a minor injury, investigators say.
