With containment of the fire burning near Kyburz now at 95%, as of Wednesday night, firefighters are beginning to think about what happens next.

According to the U.S. Forest Service, crews are now starting to look at preventing erosion and restoring trails damaged by the fire. As the containment has increased, fewer firefighters are needed.

Highway 50 opened up all lanes Tuesday, but officials advise motorists to be on the lookout for debris.

Granite Springs Road and Webber Mill Road still remain closed, however.

All campgrounds in the area are now open, the U.S. Forest Service notes.
