Yolo County authorities are on the lookout for two dogs who attacked a man in Esparto Tuesday morning.

The dogs – who look to be small, white and tanned Chihuahua mixes – charged a man in a lot near Duncan and Cowell Drives around 7:30 a.m. One of the dogs then bit the man, according to a release by the Yolo County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities want to find the dogs due to concerns over rabies. Finding and confirming that the dogs do or do not have rabies will help prevent rabies treatment for the man. Rabies treatment includes a number of shots over several days.

The dogs were last seen heading north of Duncan Drive, sheriff’s say.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office, Animal Services Section (530) 668-5287.
