SACRAMENTO–

Fried Oreos, fried Pop Tarts and fried Snickers, to name a few.

“At the fair there are no calories,” one vendor told FOX40.

But, the truth is, there are lots and lots of calories floating around the California State Fair. And, we wanted to find out just how many.

Many vendors could not recite how many calories were in some of the items they sell. Turns out, they are higher than you might think:

Fried Twinkies: 420 Calories, 34g Fat

Funnel Cake: (no toppings) 800 Calories, 44g Fat

Chocolate Covered Banana: 260 Calories, 16g Fat

Chocolate Covered Cheesecake With Bacon: 650 Calories, 50g Fat

Krispy Kreme Bacon Cheeseburger: 1,600 Calories, 50g Fat

Turkey Leg: 1,200 Calories, 55g Fat

The perimeter around the state fair is estimated to be 2 miles, or 12,000 steps for the average person. If someone burned 100 calories per mile, they would only have to walk around the fair six times to burn off one turkey leg.
