Father Flees DUI Checkpoint Leaving 4 Kids in Car

Corey Houston, 42SACRAMENTO –

A man tried to avoid a DUI checkpoint and left his four kids in the car.

According to Sacramento Police, Corey Houston, 42, tried to drive away from a DUI checkpoint near Marysville Blvd. and Harris Ave. around 8 p.m. on Saturday night.

He led police on a short chase, then got out of his car and took off running.  When officers checked his car, they found four kids inside ranging in ages from 10 months to 12 years old.

Houston eventually came out of the house in which he was hiding and was arrested for child endangerment and driving on a suspended license among other things.

Laqueen Jordan, 32, who was inside the house, was also arrested for conspiracy and delaying and obstructing officers in the course of their duties.
