Police say that a man walking his dog along Auburn Oaks Court, off of Auburn Boulevard, was attacked and stabbed Monday morning.

Not only was the man stabbed, but also his dogs.

Officers showed up at the scene just before 10 a.m. and found the man and the dog suffering from stab wounds. The man was taken by ambulance to the hospital, while animal control officers showed up to help the dog.

Both the man and the dog are expected to be OK.

Police say that the attack happened behind an apartment complex in the area. The victim is said to have fought back, possibly injuring the suspect.

The suspect is said to fled the scene on a bicycle. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Citrus Heights Police at (916) 727-5500.

    that’s a shame you can’t even enjoy your walk with your pets these days, I hope he and his dog is Ok, this person need to be caught soon there’s no telling what else they would do.
