Man Leads Cops on Pursuit, Crashes Car, Leaves Kids Behind

23-year-old Matthew McGee, sits in the Sacramento County Jail, booked for vehicle theft and felony hit and run.

But it doesn’t end there.

Police said when officers spotted him behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle, he took off and led them on a pursuit. It ended when he struck a pole and traffic signal in the intersection of Bell Avenue and Raley Boulevard.

Investigators said McGee then took off running, leaving behind a 6 and 2-year-old in the backseat, along with their mother. The three went to the hospital to get checked out, but were ok.

Cops soon after caught up with McGee and arrested him for the additional charges of felony child endangerment and resisting arrest.
