The Butte County Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Unit uncovered a large scale marijuana operation near Chinese Wall Road and Swedes Flat Road on Thursday.
A butane honey lab was also found at the property. Butane honey oil is a concentrated form of cannabis, and is highly flammable and explosive because of the flash point of the main ingredient, butane.
In addition, an unregistered handgun and two long guns were taken from the location.
Deputies served two search warrants, which led to the arrest of Michael Tran, 29, of El Cajon, Calif. as well as Damien Grall, 39, of Orange, Calif. The two were transported to Butte County Jail.
Tran was arrested for the cultivation of marijuana, possession for sale of marijuana and being armed in the commission of a felon, and has a bail of $115,000. Grall was arrested for the cultivation of marijuana and possession of sale, in addition to manufacturing a controlled substance and being armed in the commission of a family. Grall’s bail is $1 million.
