Four Sacramento-area animal shelters will benefit from grant money from the ASPCA.

The Sacramento SPCA, City of Sacramento Animal Car Services, Sacramento County Animal Care & Regulation and Happy Tails Pet Sanctuary got $273,500 to continue their work.

The new money will help the shelters with spay and neuter procedures, affordable adult cat adoptions and community events, among other things.

The ASPCA has partnered with these shelters since 2009.
