A burglary suspect picked the wrong fence to hope while running away from an angry homeowner in Manteca.

“So I’m in the living room watching TV with my son and we looked out the window and some Mexican guy is running through our yard,” said Don Tisher.

For Tisher, Monday seemed like a typical day — that is, until he came face to face with a burglar suspect.

“He had run down the side of my house to get out and the guy whose house he had broke into had just pulled up because he was chasing him. So he ran back through my yard,” said Tisher.

With a homeowner hot on his tale, the suspect had to hop a few fences before landing in Tisher’s backyard.

What the suspect did not know is that Tisher is a retired sheriff’s deputy.

“We ended up in the opposite corner over there. The guy chasing him had him around the neck at first, then I came back over, grabbed my little arm thing at put him down,” said Tisher.

Tisher tackled the suspect to the ground and when Tisher looked up, his neighbor was also standing guard with his gun pointed right at the suspect.

“I think pretty much when we grabbed him he was like I am done. I think he knew he was not going anywhere,” said Tisher.

The suspect was arrested once police arrived. Another woman was arrested in connection with the burglary.
