If you never believed in anything before, you may want to believe in the Powerball.
The jackpot is at $300 million.
“I brought Powerball and Super Lotto. There’s the Powerball right there … that one is worth how much right there. It’s about 325 million,” said Dave Sandiforth.
Just about everyone we spoke with in Auburn thinks they are going to win.
“I know I’ve got the right ticket because that’s what I asked for,” said a man named Rob.
“The winning ticket,” laughed Melinda Fox.
And Sandiforth is so confident he’s going to win he is making plans for his money.
“I always kind of figure lump sum would be more fun, but I would probably talk to somebody financially that would say hey you know or find out if I get run over in on a motorcycle tomorrow would I not get it, you know. If not I’d take it in a lump sum so the kids can have it,” said Sandiforth.
But the odds of picking the numbers for the lucky, golden ticket are one in 175.2 million. So far, no one from California has ever won this multi-state jackpot. But there is always a first time for everything.
“I really do hope someone from California does win,” said Shell Gas Clerk Valeria Schott.
