The Mercy San Juan emergency room was put on lockdown Wednesday morning, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department said.

Deputies say a woman was brought into the ER with a stab wound to her chest, saying her boyfriend had stabbed her. She was brought to the hospital by a friend, according to deputies.

It’s unknown if the woman’s wounds are life-threatening, but she’s reportedly having a hard time communicating.

Investigators are now looking for the woman’s boyfriend.

The ER was still on lockdown as of 11:54 a.m.
