The California Department of Public Health announced Thursday that they’ve issued penalties to 10 state hospitals.

In our region, UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento and Memorial Medical Center in Modesto were fined $50,000 and $100,000, respectively.

UC Davis Medical Center was fined for failing to follow established policies related to patient care. Memorial was fined for the same reason, but it was their third penalty versus UC Davis’ first.

This is not enough of a fine for Memorial Medical Center in Modesto. They have had poor patient care for years and I bet they will continue unless the fines go up or something drastic happens.
