After more than a decade, the part of Modesto’s 10th Street between K and J Streets reopened to cars Thursday.

For 13 years, that block was a pedestrian-only area.

New additions to that piece of 10th Street include a new crosswalk, a passenger loading zone and traffic and pedestrian signage and signals.

The reopening of 10th is part of an effort to revitalize downtown Modesto.
